The Ides of March featuring GRAMMY-Winner Jim Peterik, Special Guests Mark Farner (formerly of Grand Funk Railroad) Ray Parker Jr. and show host Mindi Abair to perform Benefit Show for In Concert for Cancer on November 7 at 7:30pm. Doors open at 6:00pm. All-Star concert at Jazz Alley will feature legendary musicians in support of In Concert for Cancer’s annual programs, and the cancer patient assistance fund at Seattle Children's Hospital.

The Ides of March Featuring Jim Peterik

The Ides of March is the world’s longest-existing, top-10 charting band, with all original members. Jim Peterik’s songs have sold over 30 million copies worldwide and garnered 18 Top 10 Billboard hits. Jim wrote hits “Vehicle”, “Eye of the Tiger” “The Search Is Over”, “Is This Love”, “I Can’t Hold Back”, “High On You”, and numerous top hits for Survivor, 38 Special, Cheap Trick, Sammy Hager, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Beach Boys, Dennis DeYoung, and more.

Mark Farner, Formerly of Grand Funk Railroad

Singer, songwriter, guitarist, Mark Farner is a founding member of Grand Funk Railroad, one of the greatest rock & roll bands in history. Mark wrote 90% of GFR’s catalog. He is a platinum recording artist 30 times over and has sold over 30 million records. Best known songs include “Bad Time”, “Some Kind of Wonderful”, "I’m Your Captain” (Closer to Home), “Foot Stompin' Music”, "Heartbreaker" and more.

Ray Parker Jr.

Grammy Award winning Musician, Singer, Songwriter, Composer Ray Parker Jr. had recorded 10 albums that have earned 9 consecutive Gold & Platinum Awards including 2 Gold Singles & 2 Greatest Hits CDs. Ray’s best-known songs include “Ghostbusters”, “The Other Woman”, “A Woman Needs Love”, “You Can’t Change That”, “Jack & Jill”, “Mr. Telephone Man”, and more. Ray has a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, tours worldwide, and has performed for crowds as large as 50,000. In July 2022, SONY Pictures released a documentary on Ray’s life and career entitled, “Who You Gonna Call” currently available on Amazon Prime and other streaming services.

Mindi Abair

Hosting this year’s show, and performing is In Concert for Cancer Board Member, 2XGrammy nominee, singer, songwriter, saxophonist Mindi Abair. In her 21 recording/touring career she has recorded 12 albums, earned ten No. 1 radio singles, two No. 1 Billboard Jazz CDs, and four solo CDs that have landed No. 5 and above on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Charts.

In Concert for Cancer is a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in Seattle that presents world-class concert events and one-of-a-kind music experiences. Their mission is to bring communities together in spirit and song to raise awareness and funds for cancer clinical trials, groundbreaking treatment, research, and patient support programs. As a result of their music programs, In Concert for Cancer has donated over $125,000 which has funded cancer initiatives at Seattle Children’s Hospital, City of Hope Los Angeles, Scripps Cancer Center, and Portland’s Children's Cancer Association.

50% of this concert event’s net proceeds will support the Cancer Patient Assistance Fund at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
