MTHS Jazz Ensemble 1 is a seven time Finalist in the Essentially Ellington Competition held in New York City including this year. They have also participated in the Clark College Jazz Festival this year and other regional festivals over the past years. Students in both Jazz 1 and Jazz 2 have taken top honors at regional and national competitions over the years, and have been featured in All-State and All-Northwest music groups, as well as National Ensembles like the Grammy Bands.
MTHS Jazz Ensemble 2 won their division last year at the Newport Jazz Festival in Bellevue and looks forward to performing at Jazz Alley.
MTHS continues to serve their community by playing throughout the year with performances at local events, businesses, private parties and benefits. They are recognized as the go to performing groups for area functions.
