artist info
Morgan James is a Juilliard trained singer, songwriter, actress and recording artist in New York City. She’s currently on tour supporting her fifth studio album Nobody’s Fool, a luminous love letter to 90s R&B, featuring nine brand new songs, and one cover of Jeff Buckley‘s “Everybody Here Wants You”; the release of which culminated in a 60 city US tour with her band. The album is her third original soul album recorded at the world-class Memphis Magnetic Recording, along with Memphis Magnetic, and A Very Magnetic Christmas, both recorded live to analog tape.
Other albums include Reckless Abandon, which prompted the Huffington Post to call MJ the "Brightest Breakout Artist of the Year". In addition to her original music, Morgan co-produced and starred in an all-female concept recording of Jesus Christ Superstar. Morgan has taken on full album covers of the Beatles’ iconic White Album, Joni Mitchell’s Blue, Jeff Buckley’s Grace, and many more.
Morgan recorded two full-length albums with Epic Records: Hunter and Morgan James Live, a celebration of Nina Simone. All of her music can be found on all streaming platforms, and hard copies on her website or at shows.
On Broadway, Morgan was in five back-to-back original companies: The Addams Family (starring Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth), Wonderland, Godspell and Motown: The Musical, and as a guest at Kristin Chenoweth’s For The Girls.
Morgan has cultivated a world of fans with her viral YouTube videos, and she loves connecting with them on social media and at her live shows. With viral sensation postmodern jukebox, and her own channel, Morgan has amassed more than 250 million views on YouTube, (and climbing). Over the last several years, James has established herself as a touring powerhouse, playing with her own band and symphony orchestras all over the world
“I feel like I am a part of the lineage of soul music. My guiding force throughout my creative process is ‘What would Aretha say? What would Otis say?’ It’s not a retro or throwback by any means. This music is me: classic elements, timeless melodies, and lyrics from my soul and experience. We need that right now. We need real music now more than ever.”

Vieux Farka Touré
Tue, Sep 15 - Wed, Sep 16The son of Malian music royalty, the legendary Ali Farka Toure, Vieux Farka Touré is often referred to as the Hendrix of the Sahara, a title meant more to convey the point that the man is a brilliant guitarist than to suggest that there's anything remotely Hendrix-esque about his playing (which there isn't). He's an altogether different kind of awe-inspiring.
LETTUCE
Thu, Sep 17 - Sun, Sep 20Touring in support of their latest release "COOK" Lettuce are boundary-pushing innovators blurring lines and smashing up jazz chords, psychedelic passages, big horns, strains of soul and go-go, hip-hop elements for an uplifting, improvisational sound all their own.
