“Long before the coining of the radio-generated buzzwords ‘new adult contemporary’ or ‘smooth jazz’ the composer/keyboardist Jeff Lorber was riding the creative wave of pop/jazz fusion, building a loyal following for a synthesis of sound so fresh and distinctive that only one name could really define it – The Jeff Lorber Fusion.” -allmusic.com
Jeff Lorber continues to break new ground in melody, improvisation and deep pocket groove. With a unique instrumental sound bringing together elements of funk, R&B, rock and electric jazz, Grammy-nominated Lorber helped pioneer the music genre now formatted under such names as “new adult contemporary” and “smooth jazz”. Touring in support of his latest release Hacienda, Lorber says “Hacienda is a bit more focused than some of our previous projects. The writing is more original, the playing is better, the overall vibe is more exciting. And we had a blast bringing it all together. In the end, that’s what it’s all about. If you want people to enjoy the music, you have to put the good vibes in when you make it so people can get the good vibes out when they hear it.”
Bassist, composer and producer Brian Bromberg transverses from acoustic to electric bass, Piccolo bass to synthesizer bass and brings the art of bass playing to a new level. He’s performed throughout the world with many of the greatest jazz musicians of our time and has release some of the most critically acclaimed instrumental albums in contemporary jazz. Bromberg has three new releases; “Compared to That”, “Bromberg Plays Hendrix” and “In the Spirit of Jobim”.
Born in Jackson Mississippi, Patrick Lamb is one of those extraordinary performers who combine raw talent, and energy with a singular ability to captivate an audience with his charm, sincerity and pure magnetism. His focus as a songwriter and performing artist is “old school” R&B, soul. He combines these influences along with flavors of funk and jazz to create his own unique sound as a performer and songwriter. “One of the best instrumentalists I’ve ever worked with.” – Bobby Caldwell.
A Chicago native who was practically born with drum sticks in his hand, Gary Novak has played with a who’s who list including Chick Corea, Alanis Morissette, George Benson, Chaka Kahn, Lee Ritenour, Maynard Ferguson, David Sanborn and many more.
