The Seattle-Kobe Sister City Association (SKSCA) is pleased to announce the 10th Annual Seattle-Kobe Female Jazz Vocalist Audition. The SKSCA will send one high school-aged and one adult female jazz vocalist from the greater Seattle area to Kobe, Japan in May 2014 to be a guest singer at the 15th Annual Kobe Jazz Vocal Queen Contest.
Every fall for the last fourteen years the winner of the Kobe Jazz Vocal Queen Contest -- held in Kobe -- has flown to Seattle to make her U.S. debut here at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley. Nine years ago, SKSCA began holding a jazz vocalist audition as the reciprocal component of this exchange. We are now proud to be hosting our tenth jazz audition.
As usual, there was an amazing response to the call for submissions, and therefore some very talented vocalists participating! SKSCA is pleased to announce the finalists who will be singing at Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley:
Students:Eliana Colachis; Bailey Doctor; Sarah Freyd; Aaria Manchanda; and Laura Rosok
Adults:Katie Davi; Eugenie Jones; Jennifer Kienzle; Amy Kramer Hawks; Nancy Nolan; Charlotte Reese; and Kate Voss

“Goapele possesses a vocal instrument that is haunting, ephemeral, smooth yet passionate. Her vocal’s ideally fit the sparse love ballads and political anthems that have been Goapele’s calling card.” - SoulTracks.com
